Dr. Valerie R. Hatley


Dr. Valerie R. Hatley is a 4th generation Yukon resident.  She specializes in primary care optometry with primary interest in childrens’ vision problems and is National board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease. 

She met her husband, Ed, at OSU, where she also enjoyed playing in the OSU band, orchestra, and wind ensemble. Dr. Hatley attended Northeastern State University College of Optometry, was chosen as an outstanding clinician and awarded Best 4th year project.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and of the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. 

Dr. Hatley and her husband have adopted 3 beautiful boys, Joey, Tommy, and Noah.   Joey and Noah have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders which has helped her to better care for her special needs patients.  She is an active member of ChildSHARE, a support group for foster and adoptive families that is sponsored by the United Methodist Church. 

As a semi professional oboe and english horn player, she has performed with the Enid Symphony Orchestra, the Oklahoma Community Orchestra, the Oklahoma Baptist University Symphony Orchestra, and the Oklahoma City Symphonic Band. 

She is currently the president of Yukon Rotary.
